Local farms provide fresh produce for Lazarus House guests
People of low income typically do not have easy access to healthier choices. Mark runs a farm in southern New Hampshire, primarily growing corn on 80 acres. In the summertime, what is not sold at the farm stand, is donated to Lazarus House. It is a sizable, fresh and frequent gift that gets distributed to our guests in the Food Pantry, in the Shelter, and in the Soup Kitchen.

Bitter cold weather brings homeless people to temporary shelter at Lazarus House
With the winter nights of New England dipping into bitterly cold, single-digit temperatures, it can make for very harsh conditions for people who live on the streets or in abandoned buildings.

Everything is easier when you have a home. Nefertiti is a determined young woman with smiling eyes and a contagious giggle. Despite a series of hard knocks, both emotionally and literally, the devoted mom has worked diligently to set herself on a path that will hopefully lead to a nursing degree, a permanent home for her beautiful family, and in due time, college educations for her two sons.
