Ed Wiederhold (Tewksbury MA)began in his new role as Director of Operations for Lazarus House Ministries Monday December 7th. Ed brings with him almost 40 years of operations experience, a love for Lazarus House, and a strong desire to carry on building solid and lasting relationships with the Ministry’s staff, partners, vendors, sponsors and local committees.
Jeff Hassel, Executive Director of Lazarus House Ministries said this about the search process and finding Wiederhold “We conducted a thorough search for the person who would join the Lazarus House leadership team as the Director of Operations. Ed already had a deep familiarity with Lazarus House, having worked over the past two decades as a volunteer in many capacities and as the liaison between DMSE (Dave McGillivraySports Enterprises) and the Hike for Hope planning teams”.
Wiederhold said “Lazarus House has been an important part of my life especially the past 6 –8 years, organizing Hike for Hope, donating large amounts of surplus event food, volunteering, and giving financial support. During this time, I became more and more passionate about the mission of Lazarus House, and impressed with the Ministry and the staff.
He joins at a time when guidance and support in operations and logistics is at an all-time high with the pivots necessary to continue serving the people of Lawrence and the Greater Merrimack Valley in the core ministry areas of advocacy, food, shelter, and clothing.
Jeff Hassel is confident about Ed being valuable influencein taking Lazarus House where it needs to goand added “Ed is an expert in logistics and operations, is a competent and collaborative leader, is action-oriented, a strategist and an optimist. I believe that Ed has the ability to work with me and the Lazarus House team to move the Ministry onward and upward”!
