In the Lazarus House ESOL class today, I asked the students what keeps them going when life seems full of obstacles.  Here are some of their answers:

“My faith in God.”

“I remember my goal which is that I want to learn English to get a better job and be a good role model for my children.”

“I don’t want to stay stuck and never give up.”

“I don’t cry about my problems. I think of solutions!”

“If something isn’t working, I stop and think about why that is and what I can do to fix it.”

“It’s important to believe in yourself!”

“I cut all the negative people out of my life.”

“I keep working hard!”

“I tell myself don’t be afraid to take risks!”
