Five years ago, Tee Lewis had never run a race anywhere let alone a marathon.
Inspired by a friend and the prospect of running at Disneyland, a year later she had completed 15 half-marathons, and in the years since has run full marathons in New York, Tokyo, London and Berlin.
This year, Lewis will run her first Boston Marathon as part of the Lazarus House team.
“For the past few years a close member of my family has struggled with homelessness,” said Lewis. “(That) has been a humbling and life changing experience.”
With a fundraising goal of $10,000, she says she wants to represent a charity close to her heart. By running Boston, she also joins an elite group that has run the six “World Marathon Majors.”
“Knowing that my marathon will support Lazarus House and their efforts to fight homelessness will make my goal and all my training even more rewarding and worthwhile,” she said.
As Lewis puts it, “When I set my mind to something, move out of my way!” The last five years has proven that!
