Position Summary:

The Operations Assistant will provide support to the Director of Operations across all functional areas and departments. The candidate in this position will need to be an excellent communicator that is able to adjust to changing needs, priorities, and the structure of multiple programs.

Position Description:

  • Responsible for coordinating and implementing data collection at the Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen.
  • Deliver in-kind donations to various areas in the Ministry that are dropped off at the main office.
  • Acts as a liaison between vendors and the Director of Operations.
  • Responsible for being the point of contact for internal and external inquiries/requests.
  • Provide backup to reception and triage emails from the general inbox.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff and leaders within the Ministry for operational needs.
  • Mentors administrative staff within the Operations team and provides on the job training and support.
  • Makes photocopies, mails, scans, and emails documents, and performs other clerical functions.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Demonstrate strong commitment to the mission of Lazarus House Ministries.
  • Understanding and support of how the Gospel foundation drives our decisions and actions throughout the Ministry.
  • Able to travel from building to building within the ministry and external agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
  • Associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 2 years of office experience preferred.

  • Prolonged standing, some bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate equipment pertinent to your position.
  • Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations, including people who are homeless or have a mental illness or other challenges.
  • Interact effectively with staff, guests, volunteers, benefactors, and the general public.
  • Able to manage the stress of the job
