DO I HAVE TO WALK THE ENTIRE 5 MILES?
No. The first part of the course circles around Merrimack College and is approximately 1 mile. Many people are comfortable walking the 1 mile course.

DO I HAVE TO RAISE PLEDGES?
The Hike for Hope is a fundraiser. Your pledges help raise money for the Lazarus House Transitional Housing Program, "Bringing the Homeless Home." The more money that is raised, helps bring us closer to making this vision a reality and will help provide homeless families and individuals move into permanent housing - once again experiencing independent living. Phase One of the project will provide mothers and their children with apartments and comprehensive support services. EVERY PLEDGE COUNTS!

WHY IS THERE A REGISTRATION FEE?
The costs of an event like the Hike for Hope are significant. Some costs are covered by our generous sponsors, but not all. Your registration fee helps defray the cost of food and water, T-shirts and other event-related expenses.

DO CHILDREN HAVE TO PAY THE REGISTRATION FEE?
Yes, as this covers the cost of food, T-shirts and other event-related expenses.

IF MY WHOLE FAMILY IS WALKING, DOES EVERYONE HAVE TO REGISTER?
Yes, we ask that you register everyone. That way, anyone who pre-registers, will receive a T-shirt and we can ascertain how much food, water and T-shirts we need to order.

DO CIRCLE OF HOPE MEMBERS HAVE TO PAY THE REGISTRATION FEE?
Yes. All registration fees help cover help cover the cost of the event.

CAN SOMEONE WALK WITHOUT BEING REGISTERED?
We cannot give anyone permission to walk without being registered. Registration fees cover our costs and assure walkers access to first aid, food, etc. We need to have adequate supplies and volunteers along the course, som the more accurate our registration numbers, the more accurate our numbers of volunteers and supplies.

CAN I REGISTER THE DAY OF THE WALK?
Yes, but it will cost you $20 rather than $15. We recommend that everyone pre-register so that we provide enough food and water. Also you will avoid any waiting at the registration tent on Hike day.

CAN I RECEIVE MY T-SHIRT PRIOR TO THE HIKE?
Yes. Please call Lana Schofield at 978-689-8575, Ext. 206 to arrange for pick up at the Good Shepherd Center, 2nd floor at 412 Hampshire Street in Lawrence.
