Donating to Lazarus House

Your Gift Makes Dreams Awaken

Poverty is complex and seldom has a single cause. Poverty deprives families of hope, dignity, nutrition, medical care and much more. Poverty forces you to make it through just one day at a time – tomorrow is too far away and planning is a luxury.

Our Lazarus House advocates caringly work with families and individuals to not just provide the basics of food, shelter and clothing, but to bring back the hope and dignity that allows people to dream again, to move beyond poverty, to succeed.

Can you just imagine what happens when a guest comes to our door and begins to realize that the future can look brighter! Please join us in making this happen!

It is amazing how much can be accomplished in a short 4 – 6 months. Emma, a young mother, moved into our shelter just ten weeks ago with her two children. She entered our Job Training Program where she is now learning English, valuable work skills, how to save her income and plan for the future – all within a safe and nurturing environment.

Emma begins full-time employment with us in two short weeks. Her children are excited about school as they have been provided with school clothes and class supplies made possible by the generosity of our donors.

And the future for Emma holds even more hope. She has applied to live in our new transitional housing building, Capernaum Place, scheduled to open mid October 2007.

For Emma, and so many others, the opportunity for safe and supportive shelter, learning crucial life skills and finally, securing permanent housing that she can sustain, becomes a reality through the generosity of our donors and the services Lazarus House provides.

Your gift supports all of our vital programs and makes a difference in the lives of children, women and men, who seek to improve their lives.

“Blessed is he who is kind to the needy." Proverbs 14:21
